Dilly Dilly

Image
Via the Kansas City Star:   ...But “Dilly Dilly” wasn’t a pure stroke of genius out of thin air. According to dictionary.com, the origins of “dilly” are in a shortening of the word “delightful” or “delicious,” probably from the 1930s. On its own, it has come to mean “something or someone regarded as remarkable or unusual.” File this one away next to the "It's Wednesday, Gary."  "I know that Janet" one  as gold.

Disneyland Using Bob Dylan To Promote 60th Anniversary

Image
Well...they're using what sounds like someone like Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks singing just  a bit of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" in this really cute promo spot for the upcoming 60th Anniversary of the park .  But it is *still* Dylan.  That's kinda awesome. We came in stationwagons. Campers. On planes. To see what Walt had built. And what we found was a place that was always growing. But never grew old. Gotta get there for the 60th, right?

It's Wednesday, Gary!

This commercial from Hotels.com makes me laugh so much.  There isn't another spot on television right now that I laugh EVERY time I see it.  Just too funny. "I know that, Janet."  Lulz.

Citrus Cooler Gatorade Is Back! (For Now)

Image
My childhood favorite (and Mike's favorite!) is back in stores.  Go out and stock up.  I just did.  I put 20 of them in my cart at Jewel over the weekend. What's the big deal?   Here's the details via CBS Sports : In the pantheon of sports drink flavors, not many things top Gatorade's Citrus Cooler. So hell yes you should be excited the sports scientists are bringing it back in March of 2015.   Gatorade's celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015 and as such they're producing a bunch of commercials related to the milestone. But this is next level stuff. Citrus Cooler was/is Michael Jordan's favorite flavor and if it's good enough for the G.O.A.T. it's good enough for the rest of us. And they also brought back the "Be Like Mike" commercials with a slight tweak.  I can't stop humming the song.
