Dropping Off at Pre-School Like A Boss

Image
Here I am sitting in the line on drop the King of the Ball Tossers off at pre-school one morning recently when I see in front of me this Dad dropping off his toddlers LIKE A BOSS in his Tesla Model X with Falcon Wings.  Talk about winning the whole drop-off line, amirite?  No fancy grocery wagon from Volvo or Infinity can shake a stick at this guy.  Sorry to my kids...I have good news/bad news.  The good news: for the older girls....you're taking the bus.  The bad news?  When we drive you, you're rolling out of the Swagger Wagon .

Proud Parenting Moment - Raising a Future Illini?

Image
We were at the Babe's school for new parent orientation recently and as we exited her classroom, we were able to see some of the work that the class had done.  And as I looked for the Babe's paper, I saw this above.  Sure...she gives really good answers for what she needs to do in 1st grade.  But, look at the bottom where the kids were asked to color in their own backpack.  She picked the Fighting Illini and the Block I?!?  Yep.  Not Mickey the Mouse.  Not My Little Pony.  Nor Shopkins.  Or her *actual* backpack - which is cute...but probably hard to draw because of the squiggles and such. Nope.  She went with the orange and blue.  I-L-L! Proud parenting moment for sure.

Kellogg School of Management June 2010 Graduate

This Tuesday, I make my last walk from my office to Kellogg's Campus in Chicago.  It will be my last class.  Ever. When I went to pick up my mail last week in the mailroom, there was this posterboard staring me in the face: I have been looking at these posters for each the past 10 quarters.  Each time they have a graduating class, they post one of these.  I've never given it much more than a glance.  At least until this time.
