My 2025 Music Recap - Via YouTube Music - December 2025

Image
As it appears the thing to do at this time of year, I'm sharing my 2025 musical recap.  But, of course, I don't post on social media, so I can't post it there.  It's here on my blog.  And, we're YouTube music users, so my recap is a little different than the Spotify ones you see everywhere.   As for the results, I'd describe this as "not surprising".  Would have thought that maybe Pearl Jam would have edged out John Prine in the top five, but otherwise the other four (The Band, Wilco, Bob Dylan and Radiohead) all check out. Top song being "Jawbone" seems odd, but I *did* write an entire blog post about the song all the way back in January this year .  The day after I posted about Garth Hudson's death.  He was the last one .  Thanks to Big Pink, they'll live forever.   Also, "On a Night Like This" seems strange as #2, as well.  But, I will say that I fell into that record this year in a big way.  It has become one of my fav...

3 Vintage Sweaters @ Estate Sale

Image
I found these sweaters at an Estate Sale in Elmhurst and thought really hard about buying them.  No real reason, other than I was drawn to them.  Kinda strange, right?  Just look at that one above.  The 1966 across the chest?  That's just rad, isn't it?  And look how trim/slim it is??!? And these below?  The orange one is awesome because of the orange.  Then add the chevrons on the arm, the pins on the letter in the middle?  The v-neck?? And this cardigan?  From the Glee Club?  Pretty awesome. Alas, they didn't come home with me but I'm hoping that they went home with somebody.  And that they didn't end up in the garbage dump.

St. Lawrence University Letterman's Jacket

Image
I came across this jacket in the basement of an estate sale in Elmhurst over the weekend.  They wanted just $2 for it, but I couldn't pull the trigger.  Had never heard of St. Lawrence University.  A quick Google search tells you it is in upstate New York .  The house had a lot of artistic items in the Estate Sale - including paintings.  The jacket made a long trip both from New York, but also from way back in 1956.  Hopefully, someone else found it and it found a nice home and not in the bottom of a dumpster.
