Golden Mop False Cypress Planted - Conifer Garden IB2DWs - October 2023

Last Fall, I planted a singular cypress conifer called Lemon Thread False Cypress in the backyard by the Hornbeam trees.  It has mostly just gotten along without much attention, so I decided to add something similar to the front yard - IB2DWs - Conifer Garden:  a Golden Mop False Cypress.  Chamaecyparis pisifera.  They're similar...but I'm learning they're different in some ways.  From Oregon State  University, I'm seeing that Golden Mop is a 'true dwarf':

‘Golden Mop’ - it is a mutation of ‘Filifera Aurea’ and a true dwarf, to 1 m, with more intense yellow.

I've planted in a full sun, so I'm sure hoping that we get some of that 'intense yellow' and based on what I'm reading (below) in Midwest Garden Tips, I think we have a winner with Golden Mop.  From MGT:

The dramatic foliage of the ‘Golden Mop’ is bright yellow green with a feathery, almost stringy appearance. The glowing gold foliage creates a lovely accent to deeper green conifers. ‘Mops’ holds its’ golden color through summer, unlike other golden cultivars. The slightly weeping branches gives the plant a shaggy, mophead form.
Here's the plant tag below:

And here, below, is it planted in the conifer garden.  It is planted in 'front of' the small Ginkgo tree.

My 2023 Fall Planting List - so far - includes a number of new and divided plants.

Now up to 41 new plants.  3 new via division.  7 Trees.  44 total for 2023 #FallPlanting.  21 of them are groundcover plants.  Five sedums.

As for my #1 2023 item on the list - planting evergreens.  How have I done on that?

According to my late-summer checkin post, I have planted 19 evergreens in 2023:  5 boxwoods in front, 13 boxwoods in back and a columnar scotch pine tree.  That tree has died, however.  Add the Baby Blue Spruce tree from this past week and I'm up to 20 evergreens (so far) in 2023.  With this Bird's Nest Spruce, that's 21 total.  Two Weeping Norway Spruce - that's 22 and 23 for 2023.  The Montrose Charm makes 24.  This Baby Blue Spruce (#2) is 25.  The 3rd Baby Blue Spruce is 26 evergreens for 2023. Golden Mop Cypress is 27.
