Enchanted Tiki Room Art on Disney Treasure - DCL - February 2025

Image
Another day, another post showing the artwork from Disney's latest cruise ship - the Disney Treasure. The stairwell landings on the Disney Treasure cruise ship are filled with art that reference 'Adveture-ish' or 'Adventureland-adjacent' films and movies in the Disney catalog. I shared a couple looks at the WALL-E art in the aft stairs . And the "Tomb Sweet Tomb" Haunted Mansion needlepoint in the Haunted Mansion Parlor or the DCL ship Disney Treasure. Then, I shared the Jungle Book large-format art that is also in the aft stairs . It features Baloo and Mogli from Disney's Jungle Book animated film. Below are some photos showing art from a different floor - focused on Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.  These were organized into a 'gallery wall' display with multiple, smaller-sized framed works of art covering the different parts of the Enchanted Tiki Room attraction.  These are in the 'forward stairs' of the ship:

Made for Trader Vic's Pottery - Tiki Rum Bowl - January 2023

Nat and I don't exchange a ton of Christmas gifts during the gifting season.  But, we *do* exchange some gifts.  I typically will give her a vintage book, a Wash U shirt and starting last year...a Tiki Bar item.  When we finished our basement, we talked about putting in a Tiki Bar down there.  We did all the rough-in's for a bar - light openings in the ceiling, water and plumbing in the wall, counter-height outlets for a bar and under-counter fridges.  But, we didn't put in said Tiki Bar.  Just left the space open for the kids to use as part of the rumpus room.   But, that doesn't mean that she isn't still dreaming of that - in the future - Tiki Bar.  I even went ahead and gave this dreamed-up Tiki Bar a name:  Natalie's Hideaway.  Last year, I commissioned Tiki Tony the artist to create a sign for the place, too.   So, when I came across 1 a big tiki bar-themed bowl with ladies in bikinis, palm trees, hula dancers and a ...

Great Big Tiki at Polynesian

Image
We walked from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian one morning recently for breakfast at Kona Cafe and on that walk, we came across this large Tiki.  He is outside one of the Longhouses, just a bit west of the Grand Ceremonial House.  In what is seemingly a random location.  But, he is big.  And angry looking.  And something that makes your stay at the Poly just a little.bit.more special.  I've written about the Tiki Room at DLR here .  And I've posted photos of some of the other art at the Polynesian including this painting  and this print that we picked up in Boutiki .
